Darlington Johnson

Darlington Johnson was born on February 21, 1997, in Southfield, Michigan. At the age of ten, she knew her career goals would involve children. She is very passionate about helping children, inspiring, mentoring, and seeing them happy. Darlington created the character Layla the Ladybug while in middle school when a class assignment turned into three self-published children’s books. Darlington has written books based on her personal experiences and from the challenges of other children. Her goal is to continue the sequel, using the Layla character to encourage children with positive solutions.
Darlington graduated from Texas A & M University-Commerce Texas, class of 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science. Interdisciplinary Studies (EC-6 Generalist). Darlington received recognition of academic performance president scholar awards at Texas A & M University, Commerce, Texas. Darlington will work full-time as a title one teacher for a school district in the state of Texas or Michigan. She is also in the process of writing more children’s books.
